Details
Cultivating the Importance of timelessness style
Zaimokuza, Kamakura City, was the gateway to the sea during the Kamakura period (1185-1333), when the Wakaenoshima Port was built.
The name "Zaimokuza" comes from the fact that a commercial and industrial cooperative "Za" was once located there, which handled lumber.
In such a historic area, a century-old Japanese mansion "Tsuki to Matsu" stands with a 100-year-old pine tree that catches the sea breeze, just a 1-minute walk from the Zaimokuzai beach.
The house is a place where the old and the new of Japan are carefully nurtured.

A Hundred-Year-Old Sukiya-style Japanese Mansion
A 100-year-old pine tree and red lanterns invite you to pass through the gate, and the front yard leads you to the tasteful entrance of the "Sukiya-zukuri" (Sukiya-style) mansion.
"Sukiya" in "Sukiya-zukuri" refers to a tea ceremony room, and "Sukiya-zukuri" is an architectural style that incorporates a tea room or a room for holding a tea ceremony.
The house is about 100 years old, and the sunlight shining in from the Japanese garden creates a very tasteful shadowy atmosphere.
The craftsmanship of the Kamoi ( a lintel ) , Shoin ( a study ), and other features are eye-catching.
Incidentally, a shrine carpenter from Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine was involved in the renovation work, which shows the owner's commitment to the good old Japanese culture.
This place is truly filled with Japanese culture.
The owner of "Tsuki to Matsu" (the moon and the pine tree) named the restaurant , inspired from the scene he saw when he first visited this place.
Looking up at the magnificent pine tree by the gate, he saw a full moon.
The name of the restaurant is a very poetic, haiku-like name.
The owner hopes to "preserve the charm of Japanese-style houses for future generations, and to have many people spend a peaceful time with delicious food in a restaurant where you can feel the ambience of Japanese-style houses and the Japanese flavor, while thinking about the "good old days".
Please feel free to spend your time as if you are in a nostalgic hometown.

The combination of Karasumi and Soba, is an unlikely combination.
Sliced and shaved Karasumi mixed with Soba noodles gives the dish a unique taste that cannot be found anywhere else.
The specialty of the house "Karasumi Soba" is available in two "Kaiseki" courses.
